Rinku Kalsy, Director and Editor
Rinku Kalsy, is the director of For the Love of a Man. She is also the founder of Anecdote Films. An independent production company she started in 2006 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. She studied filmmaking in Amsterdam, and has worked on a few independent documentaries for international film festivals and for the Dutch national TV as an editor, producer and director. Over the past 4 years while researching and filming For the love of a man, she has become ardent fan of Rajnikanth and Tamil cinema.
Joyojeet Pal, Producer & Researcher
Joyojeet Pal is a superstar fan of Rajnikanth and Tamil cinema and worked on the background research for this film. His favorite Rajnikanth films include Thillu Mullu, Thalapathi and Moondru Mudichu. Although this is his first film as a producer, filmmaking is a family tradition with four generations of his family working in the Hindi film industry. He is currently a professor at the School of Information at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
Satchit Puranik, Associate Editor
Satchit puranik is a theatre maker and film maker who studied editing and direction at the film and television institute of india (FTII, Pune). He was co editor on the multiple award winning “Ship of Theseus”(2013) and director of casting for “Court” (2014) slated to premiere in the prestigious Venice film festival. His other film work includes “Bey yaar” (2014), “The president is coming” (2009), “Mr. Ya miss” (2005) amongst others. His theatre work includes working in over 3 languages and his non fiction theatre collaborator Marjolijn van Heemstra and him made “Family 81″ (2011) and “Mahabharata” (2012) which have extensively toured Europe.
Prarthana Srikaanth, Assistant Director
Prarthana Srikaanth, worked as the assistant director in For the Love of a Man. She holds a master’s degree in media and entertainment and has a diploma in 3D animation from Arena Multimedia. She has worked in a couple of short films as a producer and director and has experience in the field of event management. She has interned at many reputed companies in event management, film production, corporate communication, graphic design, media planning and research. She looks forward to a career in the field of event management and marketing. She loves being behind the camera and photography is her passion and hobby.
Sandeep PS, Cameraman
Cameraman Sandeep started as an engineering graduate with an offer to work for IBM. He decided to follow his true calling and joined the L.V.Prasad Film and Television Academy in Chennai and specialized in cinematography. During his film school stint he shot a variety of short films, music videos and documentaries. But his first real break in documentary filmmaking came as cameraman in For the Love of a Man. He is currently working on his first full scale Tamil feature film as director of photography.
Udit Khurana, Cameraman
Udit Khurana is a silver medalist in cinematography from L.V. Prasad Film And Television Academy, Chennai, India. His diploma film ‘Devil in the Black Stone’ has been screened at various national and international festivals like MIFF2014, IDSFK2014, London Indian Film Festival 2014 among others. He is currently based out of Delhi and works freelance.
K. Visvanathan, Cameraman
K. Visvanathan, also known as Srinivaas, has over twenty years of experience as a cinematographer and director of photography in a variety of television shows and films. He has worked for a variety of Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada productions. He also worked on the Rajnikanth super hit film Padaiyappa as an operative cameraman. He contributed his experience and passion for Rajnikanth as a cameraman in For the Love of a Man.
Sreeram Pradeep, Sound
Sreeram Pradeep did sound in For the love of a man. Born with a severe addiction to cinema and story telling he has a diploma in editing and sound design from LV Prasad Film and Television Academy in Chennai. Sreeram is the sound man looking to find his own voice!
Shalini Vijaykumar, Research Assistant
Shalini Vijaykumar is a media graduate from MOP Vaishnav College in Chennai. She is passionate about films and filmmaking with an interest in photography and cinematography. She is currently working as part of the creative team of an advertising and media company in Chennai. Having worked on several short films, advertisements, and one Tamil feature film she looks forward to a career in media and films. A Superstar Rajinikanth fan herself, she was thrilled to have joined the For the Love of a Man team.
Suryans Vijay, Assistant Editor
Vijay started his career working as Assistant Director in TV soaps, and after some time learning the basics across various technical elements of filmmaking, shifted to editing full time, after a stint assisting editor Rahul Srivastava. Besides being a FinalCut whiz, Vijay has good command over CG supervision and and extrovert planning. Besides editing, Vijay’s true love in life is Biriyani, having grown up in Hyderabad.
